How To Find It In Your Bible - A Review

How To Find It
In Your Bible

by

Pamela L. McQuade

As a teenager, one of the first Biblical reference books I received as a gift from a pastor was Nave’s Topical Bible. This book serves as an abbreviated (though not duplicated) version of that book.

The book offers topical references to 1,001 different important terms and concepts found in scripture. That number is a bit deceiving as some of the terms are only covered indirectly:

Meaning, that there are a bit less than 1001 actual topics discussed. The underlying translation used for this reference is the King James Version, making it useful to most

lay readers, but less useful to those who prefer an alternate translation. Entries, include a

short quotation of the key passages followed by the Biblical reference. Some of the chosen topics include all the available biblical material, others include a good selection of relevant scriptures.

The book would seem to be aimed more to the lay reader and learner, though pastors would find some of the summaries helpful. Most pastors and scholars would be better served by a more complete topical index or Bible Study software. I have given this a 4-star review.
